World Humanitarian Service Foundation (WHSF) is an international Non-Governmental Organization founded and registered in Ghana in the year 2010. WHSF seeks to promote economic and social development of local communities through the implementation of relief and developmental programmes. The organization supports local communities to build a better life and find their own solutions to global problems. Since its existence, WHSF has been instrumental in helping to save lives and relieve human suffering in some of the poorest regions in Africa, most especially Ghana.
A world where every human being lives a dignified life and developing his or her potentials for the benefit of self and others.
To provide humanitarian relief services to the poor, distressed and underprivileged children; to support the development of deprived communities; and promote love, peace, security, and morality.
The objectives of WHSF are exclusively for the benefit of the general public through providing support and assistance to local communities, the poor, girl-child, persons with disability, widows, and orphans, in any of the following ways:
WHSF provides emergency relief and assistance to people caught up in extra ordinary, life-threatening situations. WHSF is actively providing assistance whenever and wherever it is needed.
The organization works on the principle of developing cooperation with those in difficult circumstances such as the needy, sick people, orphans, poor and underprivileged people, disabled and marginalized people, and abused children; in order to build a better life and offer them the opportunity to find their own solutions to local and global problems through learning and skills support programmes.
We seek to help communities and deprived and underprivileged people in areas such as healthcare support, education support, feeding and other livelihood support, entrepreneurial skills training and job creation, support for orphans, empowerment of the girl-child, and teachings about Islamic faith.
We do this by networking with institutions, non-governmental organisations, and individuals willing to help in kind or cash; or as zakat in the areas of community development, alleviation of poverty, empowerment of women and the youth, support for the well-being of children, and general humanitarian service to mankind.
Our seven main projects which we implement to meet the needs of our target population are Livelihood Aid, Child Sponsorship, Medical Aid, Educational support, Safe Water Aid, and Enterprise Development and Support.
Our head office is located near Nyohini Roundabout, adjacent Hajia Sauda’s Food Comlex in Tamale, in the Northern Region of Ghana. We work in the deprived and underprivileged communities in Ghana. However, over the past ten years since incorporation, we have focused our relief and humanitarian services in Tamale and adjoining communities.
The immediate plan is to expand to cover most communities in the Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East, Upper West, and Bono Regions.
