Water Project for Rural Communities in Northern Ghana
People living in poverty, especially in rural communities of Ghana lack portable drinking water, as a result they become vulnerable to water-borne diseases.

Availability of and accessibility to portable water is a guarantee for the healthy living of deprived and impoverished people. Unfortunately, many of such people do not have access to clean water for drinking and other domestic uses. Most of them rely on streams and dams which are often polluted and shared with animals. Besides, they are often far from the community, mostly between 2 to 5 kilometres.
With this, women and children suffer as they walk such distances to fetch unclean water. In these communities, lateness to and absenteeism from school is common with the girl-child.
To help solve these problems, the WHSF has identified some deprived and poor communities in the Yendi Municipality where access to portable water is a critical life saving issue, and is therefore seeking funding support from philanthropic individuals and organisations to provide mechanised boreholes for the identified communities.

The aim of this project is bring smiles to the many poor who need the basic necessities of life in other to survive and make a living. The project targets people who are most in need of support whether in the form of food, clothing, shelter, safe water, or any emergency humanitarian service that provides relief from situations that are life threatening.
